want to create a dnd character but have no clue where to start?

it can be difficult to navigate dungeons and dragons. there is so much that it can become intimidating. i know. i only figured it out after a friend sat me down and explained it over a few too many cups of coffee. the best way i was able to submerge myself into the worlds and how it all works, without having to find a group to play with, was building a character. i needed a character before i could even think of playing, right? (technically wrong, but we can get into that later). this will include links to the players handbooks, helpful websites, and what a character needs overall for DND 5th edition.
